The Project

This $1.3 million construction of a 17,140m2 5-Star Green star high clearance warehouse and office facility in Derrimut required large-scale passive fire treatment. The sheer size of the premises and various materials called for a multi-scope solution using a range of passive fire products.

The Problem

This massive commercial warehouse built by 2CONSTRUCT required a passive fire protection upgrade due to a lease changeover. Because the incoming tenant, LINFOX, needed to store dangerous goods within the warehouse, 2CONSTRUCT sought a provider who could install appropriate fire protection to contain the volatile materials.

The Solution

PROFINISH Fire Protection helped design and build a large scale fire wall at Castro Way. This wall runs approximately 160 meters in length and spans 12 meters high. The wall, at over 1,250m2, was created with pre-cast concrete using Promatect H. We are also installing a massive 4,600m2 fire-shield plasterboard system throughout two of the four walls around the warehouse, completely stopped up, sanded and painted to a professional standard. We also treated and fire-stopped any service penetrations in the fire wall.
