State Library Station Victoria

PROFINISH Fire Protection has been contracted by Ellis Air to implement duct protection and fire sealing penetration works to Melbourne’s newest underground train station.

The new State Library/CBD North Station and complex is being developed as part of Melbourne’s extensive metro tunnel. As one of three new CBD stations to accommodate the state’s growing population and CBD residents, it will form a new Northern gateway to the city.

The project includes applying 3M’s Ductwrap to required ductwork, as well as the installation of fire-rated access panels where needed.

PROFINISH have also been contracted to install the fire stopping for the mechanical penetrations as follows:

  • Wall Penetrations
    – Hot Water Pipes
    – Chilled Water Pipes
    – CHW & HHW Pipes
  • Floor Penetrations
    – Hot Water Pipes
    – Chilled Water Pipes
    – CHW & HHW Pipes
    – Water Treatment Pipes

Included in the above is the inspection of the penetrations, sealing and the registration of the penetrations for future maintenance and reference.
