Sydney Metro Tunnel

PROFINISH Fire Protection is working with CPB and Precast Panel Solutions to complete fire spray work on the Sydney Metro Tunnel.

Commuting can be stressful enough without worrying about the safety of your surroundings, especially in a confined space such as an underground tunnel. PROFINISH is pleased to have the opportunity to ensure the new Sydney Metro Tunnel is a safe commute. We’ve been contracted by two parties to complete fire spray work on the project.

Working with Precast Panel Solutions, we have been contracted to spray apply Promat’s Fendolite MII to steel equal angles running along the west and east side of the tunnel to achieve a 120/-/- FRL.

Through CPB, the builder,  we have been contracted to spray apply Promat’s Fendolite MII to steel bracket J52 baseplates on B03 from zone 21-30 to achieve a 120/-/- FRL. We have also been working to spray various beams throughout the tunnel.

Promat’s FENDOLITE® MII is a durable cementitious fireproofing spray is designed specifically for steel and concrete structures in the oil and gas and petrochemical industry. Fully weatherproof, it can withstand thermal shocks and protect against blasts and explosions. It creates a barrier that will last up to 240 minutes in the event of a hydrocarbon pool fire and up to 120 minutes in the event of a jet fire.
