COGG Civic Precinct

The City of Greater Geelong Civic Precinct is a feat of structural engineering and architectural appeal. It is also be the safest new building in the city.

PROFINISH Fire Protection has customised a multi-scope passive fire protection solution to ensure the COGG Civic Precinct meets all compliance requirements.

We’ve worked with BESIX Watpac and D&E Air to apply and/or assist with the design of:

• Intumescent protective paint to the steel columns
• Fire-rated plasterboard to the connection joints of the timber
• Fire-rated ductwork and fire rating of all penetrations

We also worked alongside commercial electricians Anova Electrical to complete final penetrations solutions across the site. This will ensure another building has been protected correctly within our local community.

As well as being exemplary of passive fire safety, the development is sustainability-focused with the new office featuring a Cross Laminated Timber building structure as well as targeting 6 Star GreenStar and 5.5 Star NABERS. The building was designed by Cox Architects.
