250 Spencer Street – West Side Place

PROFINISH Fire Protection worked alongside Ellis Air to complete ductworks at the $1 billion West Side Place.

West Side Place is one of the tallest hotels and apartment buildings in the southern hemisphere. 

Touted as the new heart of the CBD, West Side Place stands prominently at the corner of Lonsdale and Spencer. This high rise has been designed with luxury in mind, becoming home to Melbourne’s tallest hotel – the first-class Ritz-Carlton – as well as a suite of lavish residential apartments. 

PROFINISH was given the task to fire rate all of Ellis Air’s ductwork, which requires a fire rating level of 120 minutes. This was achieved by using Promat Australia’s product Promaspray P300. During stage 2 of the project, we worked with D & E Air Conditioning to achieve the necessary fire ratings for the building’s heating and cooling systems.

Towers 1 & 2 of West Side Place have now been completed.
